Series Description
Discovery through inquiry is one of the best ways to learn. 'Tracks: Impressions of America' uses this method to teach students about American history. The series looks at some of the major events in United States history through the eyes of two teen-age students. The youths journey around the country with their adult companions, asking questions about some of the major events that shaped America's history. Through their travels, they discover the answers to many of their questions, while forming a picture of American history from pre-Columbian times to the modern day. In addition to the information provided in the series, programs use open-ended 'postcard' questions, encouraging classroom discussion. The 'Tracks: Impressions of America' web site offers activities and resources for teachers and students, including links to sites for additional information and research.
