Episode Description
When Mr. Kelly challenges students to make a video recording of their favorite place, they respond with an array of examples. In the process, they discover that places can have meaning for many reasons, including spiritual, economic, social, ethnic, ceremonial, and familial. Student also see examples of children helping create their own space; they respond by creating new artwork for the Exploratorium. Segments include visits to the Bad River Indian Reservation to observe the annual ricing, to the community gardens near the University of Wisconsin-Madison to see plants and cropping systems from all over the world, and to the United Community Center/Centro do la Comunidad Unida to see the creation of a mural.
